Detailed Description
The American owner’s spiritual leanings and passion for Indonesian culture and surfing is evident throughout this delightful property – named after Hansa, Goddess of Knowledge. It’s no coincidence that Villa Hansa is within easy access of a string of some of Bali’s finest surfing beaches; Pererenan Beach is a mere 300m walk away and legendary surfer’s haunt, Echo Beach, ten minutes by car. Guests can use the owner’s large personal collection of surfboards, but if surfing sounds like too much effort, there’s always the 18m infinity-edge pool – centre-stage of pretty gardens leading down to a river and terraced rice-fields – or the dedicated yoga room, which also doubles as a TV / entertainment room.

Spirituality is a recurring element, from the four ensuite bedrooms named after Hindu Gods to Tibetan prayer flags and constantly burning incense, chosen for its therapeutic qualities. Manager Asmara is also the villa’s spiritual advisor and expert on Balinese traditions. He is more than happy to impart his wisdom and arrange guest participation in traditional Hindu ceremonies, such as the villa’s monthly full moon blessings or rituals at the village temple.

As avid collectors of Indonesian art and antiques, the owners’ personally sourced Indonesian pieces – including fine old textiles, antique furniture and objects – are tastefully displayed in all rooms. Committed to eco-friendly practices and a healthy lifestyle, food is predominantly local organic, recycling is practiced and household cleaning materials are biodegradable. Supporting the local community, the villa established the Hansa Foundation, helping fund village children in the arts, sports and environmentally-aware education.

Accommodation
Contemporary Balinese style with traditional touches, Villa Hansa comprises a main open-air pavilion with serap (ironwood) roofing, containing the living-dining room, kitchen and adjoining staff quarters. This building looks out over lovely tropical gardens with infinity-edge pool, balé and wooden deck area. Just outside the pavilion, to the left of the kitchen, a stairway leads to the detached yoga room.

Within the gardens and beside the pool, a detached one-storey wing contains bedrooms one and two. Further down on the same side, a double-storey, contemporary designed block contains bedrooms three and four. The pool and bedrooms extend to a lower lawn section and gardens flanking a small river; to the right stands the villa’s shrine.

The villa front entrance is accessed via an outer compound comprising manager’s office and parking area. Through traditional wood doors, stone steps lead down to a Balinese-style pond, filled with lofty lotus blooms and koi fish, surrounded by a moss-engulfed high wall with water feature. This section backs on to the main pavilion and living-dining room.

Bedrooms
All four unsuited bedrooms are located in two, separate outdoor wings in the gardens, flanking the pool’s left side. Each is individually named after Hindu Gods and varies in character and décor, but all are exquisitely furnished with antique pieces and furniture personally sourced by the owners. Rooms feature dark wood floors and king-size beds with four-poster frames and attached mosquito net. Quality white bed linens are draped with old, hand-woven Sumbalese throws, while soft furnishings vary in color in each room. All rooms supply safety deposit boxes and air conditioning (apart from bedroom three, all have traditional high ceilings with fan).

Bathrooms, especially those of bedrooms one and two, are a strong feature. All are fitted with stylish stainless steel his n’ hers Grohe sinks, white stone floors and separate stone wall partitions disguising the toilet and shower. Centre-stage is an indulgent circular stone bathtub. Villa Hansa sleeps eight guests in total, but provides a baby cot and rollaway bed.

Bedrooms One and Two
Nearest to the main pavilion and lying just off the pool, these two bedrooms are contained in a one-storey wing with serap roof. They are entered through glass patio doors.

Bedroom one, Brahma (‘God of Creation’) offers a creative mix of old and new, with striking contemporary Balinese art contrasting with antique pieces such as stone Buddha heads. Traditional wooden doors lead through to a tropical outdoor bathroom, comprising high walls encircling a lush garden area with simple Balinese-style shower, . – as well as the features common to all the bathrooms mentioned above.

Bedroom two, Wisnu (‘God of Protection’), is similar to its neighbor; again an interesting contrast of old and new, with Andy Warhol-style, Indonesian pop art and traditional pieces including old batik stamps. The outdoor bathroom here is similar to above, but features a larger garden shower section.

Bedrooms Three and Four
These two bedrooms are housed in a double-storey modern wing beyond the pool, surrounded by tropical foliage. Contemporary in design, rooms here contain more understated, traditional art and décor. On the ground floor, bedroom three, Ciwa (‘God who destroys negative energy’) features floor-to-ceiling windows and a low, flat ceiling without ceiling fan. Leading out from the bedroom, the large porch with poly-rattan daybed and antique Javanese wooden chairs offers views of the gardens and terraced rice fields opposite. The bathroom is also more contemporary than those in the other wing. Apart from a small outdoor shower area, the grey-hued room is indoors. Facilities follow the other bathrooms’ format, but with only one sink.

On the first-floor, bedroom four, Ganesha (‘God of wisdom and prosperity’) is reached by an outer stone stairway. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows look out over the pool, and the large private balcony with outdoor furniture offers the best views from the villa, overlooking the terraced rice fields, river and gardens. The bathroom is similar to that in bedroom three.

Living, Dining and Kitchen
The property’s heart, the open-plan, open-sided main pavilion is edged at the rear by a stunning walled pond section. A living area on the right comprises two white leather sofas and contrasting antique wood chairs and table; Indonesian objects, stone statues and vases of exotic blooms add a decorative touch. From the vaulted, traditional serap-wood ceiling hangs a huge lamp comprising Tibetan characters encased in shell pieces – this Tibetan element is a recurring theme throughout. Timbered floors feature fine Borneo woods, while the water wall feature behind ensures a constant soothing sound.

The central dining area comprises an expansive table crafted from solid teak wood, seating ten. To the left and on a lower level, the open-plan kitchen is contemporary in style and well equipped; a small guest washroom plus staff quarter’s leads off from here.

Being open to the elements, this pavilion doesn’t have air conditioning, but is kept cool by ceiling fan and natural breezes; bamboo blinds run along the entire front length, which looks out across the garden and pool. In keeping with the spiritual ambiance of the villa, this pavilion is without a TV or DVD player, but an iPod and dock is provided for musical diversion.

Yoga Room
The stand-alone yoga room is situated behind the kitchen and accessed via a high-walled stone corridor and up a staircase. Sunlight streams into this glass-encased, lofty-ceilinged room which comes tastefully decorated with antique pieces and furniture, including a Javanese carved wood table and Buddhist stone statue. Floors are of polished dark woods, littered with Balinese floor cushions. Continuing the spiritual theme, a striking chandelier-style ceiling lamp features 108 miniature Buddhist characters in individual glass pieces.

Although designed for yoga (several yoga mats are supplied), this multi-functional room also contains the villa’s only TV (29-inch plasma TV with 380 channels), plus DVD / CD player and Bose sound system. DVDs are also provided.

Pool, Garden and Bale
From the living-dining-kitchen pavilion, manicured lawns and lovely gardens of exotic blooms and leafy trees stretch down to the infinity-edge pool (18 x 6m, 2m depth) where the shallow end doubles as a customized whirlpool. Six sunbeds and one daybed furnish the deck area while antique wood chairs and tables sit below a frangipani tree. Across the pool rests a spacious serap -roofed balé for quiet reads and contemplation.

Beyond the pool, lawns edged by tropical foliage leads down to River Tibu, marking the property boundary. Stone steps lead across this small river to a steep bank of terraced rice fields and the local farming communities beyond. The villa can arrange hikes through this scenic rural landscape. The garden is dotted with stone bas-relief murals and Hindu and Buddhist stone statues; a traditional shrine on the riverbank is used for daily prayers and ceremonies.

Description Villa Sesari – Seminyak
Tucked away in the Jalan Drupadi district of Seminyak is Villa Sesari. A freshly renovated private luxury villa offering its guests full facilities and friendly trained staff. Only 20 minutes drive from Bali’s International airport and a 10 minute stroll from the beautiful Seminyak Beach.

The area of Seminyak is lined with a great choice of some of Bali’s best fine dining restaurants and bars including, KU DE TA, Warisan and La Lucciola. There are also many casual cafes, along with a fine selection of boutiques and up market shopping.

Enter Villa Sesari through oversized Balinese antique gates and across a small fishpond with stepping stones. The villa has two kitchens: main kitchen is at the main building and the other service kitchen is located next to the ‘wantilan’ style living area at the middle level.

Next to the living area is the TV Room. Through its glass sliding door you can see the swimming pool and all big trees over the river.

Yoga Area
The villa is equipped with a spa room with 2 spa-tables. A round spa Jacuzzi will provide a great experience at this paradise. On its lowest part, some special bale for Yoga are prepared for Yoga entusiasts. It is a quiet part with natural voice of big trees, birds, and sound of falling water.

Villa East Residence Ground
East Residence boasts its large ground. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a meditating Buddha statue. After entering the angkul angkul gate you will see lawn and pretty tropical garden, with fish pond. On the middle level you will get a spacious lawn which enough for kids to play ground.

The big swimming pool is located on the top level next to the main building. The pool has two part: small part with shallow area for children and bigger part for the adults. Your pool activities become more joyful with the pool bar.

Villa Belong Dua is an enchanting two-bedroom holiday villa in Bali, located in the heart of the tiny fishing and temple village of Seseh on the southwest coast. Resting on 1600 square metres of land in a beautiful walled garden complete with 20-metre swimming pool, the traditional architecture and artefacts celebrate the heritage of Bali, incorporating the symbolic elements of Balinese Hinduism.

A series of five stand-alone pavilions are positioned in accordance with ancient cosmology, while the interiors are contemporary, stylish and romantic, incorporating both modern and antique furnishings as well as 21st century facilities. This includes WiFi internet access, LCD screen satellite channel TVs and DVD players, an iPod and three docking stations, imported kitchen equipment, and a genset to ensure that the villa always has electricity in case of power failures. There is also a secure covered car-park and a staff service area.

From the moment they enter Seseh village and cross the threshold of Villa Belong Dua, guests will experience the warm hospitality, history and culture of Bali. The name of the villa is taken from a stone water vessel, dating back to a time when these containers could be found in every household, and were used every day to store water for drinking and washing. Several original antique belongs are showcased at the villa, along with an antique ‘jineng’, which is a traditional thatched Balinese rice barn and a symbol of social status, indicating that the family who owned it had land for rice culture. The jineng now serves as a place to relax or as a playhouse for kids. The villa’s imposing entrance gate is a copy of an 8th century Hindu temple gate at Angkor Wat in Cambodia and, after passing through this, guests will cross a lily pond complete with a bubbling water feature and a Balinese guardian statue. There is also an antique ‘bale gede’ from Bali’s royal Gianyar regency. This lovely old open-sided pavilion made from the timber structure of a Balinese 2 bedroom pavilion was also used for Balinese ceremonies and is now used for relaxation and massage. Villa Belong Dua sits in a traditional street, which is well lit at night. A nearby pathway offers walks through the village to the river, rice fields and beach

The living pavilion is located close to the main entrance, overlooking the garden and pool. Distinguished by a vaulted roof supported by eight wooden pillars, and open on three sides, it is furnished with a comfy, oversized daybed, and a low dining table sourced from a Javanese ‘warung’ (eatery), surrounded by floor cushions. A large mirror reflects the sunny garden, and the pavilion is beautifully lit at night.

Behind the living pavilion is an air-conditioned media room, which doubles as an office It is fitted with built-in desks, sofa area equipped with a Satelite TV and DVD player.

The semi-open-air dining room shares a pavilion with the kitchen, and the two rooms are linked via a service bar that can be closed for privacy. The dining room is furnished with an antique table, six chairs, and an antique wooden chest on wheels, known as a ‘gerobog’ originally used for storing rice. There is also an iPod and dock. The room is cooled by ceiling fans and natural breezes, and has the provision of electric blinds on the two open sides in case of rain or strong wind. A guest washroom is positioned to one side of the dining room. The immaculate polished kitchen is fully equipped with a five-burner gas hob and oven, fridge and everything else that the cook needs to create delicious meals.

The two bedrooms are in separate stand-alone pavilions named ‘Menaga’ and ‘Bangkat’, these names that go back to the time when the village of Seseh was much bigger and administratively divided into three ‘banjars’ or local village councils. Each bedroom features an open-air terrace at the front, lit by colonial-style bell-jar lanterns; Bangkat’s terrace is furnished with an antique daybed on wheels, and Menaga’s terrace with a built-in cushioned daybed. Each romantic air-conditioned bedroom is furnished with a king-size netted bed upon a wooden floor complete with a shagpile rug, under a soaring roof. The walls are cream with terracotta tiling behind the bed, and each bedroom is equipped with a wall-mounted LCD screen satellite-channel TV and DVD player. Sliding doors can be opened for cross ventilation and the rooms also have the additional facility of ceiling fans. Each bedroom opens into a delightful, air-conditioned bathroom, decorated in earthy tones. Bangkat’s bedroom has a charming, spacious dressing room off the bathroom, furnished with a wardrobe, chair and a dressing table that doubles as a desk. Bangkat bedroom boasts a recycled timber floor, and a dressing area with a built in wardrobe, a long mirror, and an antique dressing table. Each ensuite bathroom is fitted with a sculptured terrazzo bathtub for two, and double washbasins upon a terrazzo vanity unit, which faces a window to ensure plenty of natural light. Glass doors can be opened for a semi-alfresco bathing experience, complete with an outdoor rainshower set in a private walled courtyard with a pebbled floor and a serene Buddha statue. There is also a handheld shower in each bathtub, and a circular skylight that channels the moonshine.

The large garden at Villa Belong Dua is gorgeous, characterised by mature trees and open skies, with a dazzling 20 x 4 metre swimming pool as its central feature. The slate-lined pool is presided over by a Buddha head statue; it presents a separate shallow section for children and is bordered by a candi stone deck furnished with one double and two single Sunbrella sunbeds. There is also the thoughtful provision of an outdoor pool shower. The fragrant landscaped garden has a velvety lawn, and is planted with coconut palms, frangipani, lemon and mango trees, pineapple plants, ginger and lemongrass. It is surrounded by a rustic wall crafted from crushed paras stone applied by hand and unpainted. A Balinese temple shrine rests in the northeast corner.

The antique ‘bale gede’ is a traditional open-sided pavilion, originally used for Balinese ceremonies such as the Potong Gigi (Tooth Filing Ceremony), and now rests beside the swimming pool. Furnished with two timber built-in beds, some step stools taken from an old sugar cane press and a prayer table, it is a perfect spot for couples to enjoy a massage, or just chill out with a good book. It is constructed of twelve wooden pillars resting on paras stone plinths, which support a roof of radiating beamwork crowned with alang alang thatch.

A few kilometres to the northwest of Canggu, a towering banyan—one of the ‘elders’ of the tree kingdom—heralds the turning to Seseh, a traditional beachside village approached via an avenue of coconut palms.

The village of Seseh still retains the customs and culture of old Bali. Here, you will see the rice being planted and harvested in the fields, fishing boats returning in the morning with the nights catch, as well as frequent, colourful processions to the large beachside temple. There are no international restaurants here, but you might just see a barong dancing on the street. A Barong is a high-spirited, benevolent beast representing the power of good; danced by two men inside an ornate costume. The good news, for folks who want to immerse themselves in the customs and culture of old Bali, is that the people of Seseh encourage and welcome congenial visitors. There are now a number of private rental villas in this area, which have seamlessly integrated without in any way detracting from the simplicity and charm of the two villages.

Historically, the fishing village of Seseh was important in the 18th century when the temple was established as the major temple of the former Kingdom of Mengwi. At that time it was also a small trading port, inhabited by a number of families of Chinese decent. Likewise there are records of Chinese-style shop houses in Banjar Sogsogan during this period.

Today, this is an ideal destination for those who want to get lost in the beauty of the countryside, and for those who want to engage with the local people and gain privileged insights into the Balinese Hindu lifestyle.

The villa resort was completed in 2007 and recently remodeled. The design is a mix of Balinese/modern style, offering a setting that fits into the surrounding rice fields and tropical fauna.

The villas are painted in warm earthy colors set among walkways, surrounded by lush green foliage. Each villa has its own covered veranda overlooking the pool and garden. The veranda is furnished with lounge seating, the ideal spot for a coffee break or to surf the Web.

The pool lies in front of the main Pavilion with a separate Jacuzzi. A massage pavilion on one side of the pool is filled with thick cotton daybeds and cushions, the perfect setting for afternoon massages, reading, and naps.

Fragrant frangipani trees, palms, heliconia, lotus, lilies, gardenia, papyrus and cattails fill the 600 square meter garden. Various walkways pass by ponds with fountains, containing koi. Cages with tropical birds hang from the frangipani trees; they fill the mornings and afternoons with their beautiful song. Two monkeys are living in the garden, Greco and his companion, Sabrina, are an endless source of amusement.

Moon Villas are fully serviced by an experienced manager. He oversees the staff and is available to assist and perform concierge duties for the guests. The villa staff is responsible for the housekeeping and providing wait service around the pool and the Pavilion. A security guard patrols the grounds and guards the entrance from dusk until dawn.

Within the spacious 1100 square meter compound are four detached villas; a 1 bedroom efficiency, a two story 1 bedroom deluxe, a two story 2 bedroom deluxe, and a two story 3 bedroom deluxe.

The downstairs area features a kitchen, dining room, living room, and bedroom. The combined living and dining areas feature modern furniture with chenille upholstered sofa sectionals, leathered banded lounge chairs, wooden plank flooring, cowhide carpeting, crushed bamboo veneered coffee tables, unique accessories, table lamps and wall art. The Moon Villas compound, located in the village of Uma Alas (Balinese words meaning “rice” and “forest”) is one of the most sought after areas in Bali. Detailed Description
Guests at Villa San are spoiled for choice when it comes to ways to relax. Reflecting the owners’ artistic and spiritual leanings, there’s the loft studio for painting, a telescope for star-gazing from the roof-top terrace at night, and a Buddhist stupa and yoga terrace tucked in a quiet corner of the property for group or individual meditation and yoga practice.

The spacious grounds offer freedom and flexibility for both families and groups of friends, with hammocks and outdoor settings scattered round the 25 x 5m pool and a pool pavilion seating up to 15 peoples. Inside, as well as the living and dining spaces, there are two well-equipped entertainment rooms – one is part of the two bedroom master suite, the other adjacent the informal dining room – a gym and a children’s playroom. The villa showcases some exquisite art and handicrafts from China, Ghana and Indonesia.

Villa San comprises six large bedrooms – three doubles and three twins. French doors from all the bedroom pavilions look out over tranquil gardens, only steps away from the long sloping lawn and the inviting pool.

A friendly, helpful team of staff are on hand around the clock, with a butler and chef available to meet every request. Accommodation
At the heart of Villa San lies a two-storey living pavilion whose crisp modern lines and eclectic collection of wooden art pieces draw the eye from the moment you step into the villa. The pavilion houses the lounge, dining and entertainment areas as well as a playroom, artist studio, roof-top terrace and the kitchen. White casual seating, chrome and glass desks and crisp white walls are perfect foil for the exquisite Balinese, Chinese and African handicrafts in bedrooms and living areas.

The six bedroom suites, all with spacious walk-in wardrobes and luxurious bathrooms, are built in an Lshape around this living pavilion; each a discrete distance from its neighbour.

Bedrooms
Villa San’s six spacious bedrooms all feature large, luxuriously comfortable beds dressed in fine white linen and with plump feather-filled pillows. Exquisite hand-crafted bed runners from Africa and Indonesia add the finishing touch. Fine artworks and more carefully selected handicrafts grace the walls. Each room is equipped with ceiling fans, air conditioners and iPod docks and furnished with a desk, bedside tables and reading lights.

Villa San’s master suite, comprises two very generous sized bedrooms (one king–bedded and one twin-bedded) separated by a similarly large and comfortable family room, with three inviting sofas and a state-of-the-art home entertainment system. The well-appointed ensuite bathrooms, accessed through large dressing rooms with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, are full of light from windows facing onto gardens on two sides.

In separate buildings around the main living pavilion, eight more adults can be accommodated in two queen bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms featuring large tubs and showers. Two extra beds are available for children, on request.

Living, dining and entertainment
Villa San’s air conditioned entertainment lounge features one of the property’s two state of the art home theatre systems, incorporating a large flat-screen satellite TV, DVD player and stereo system. Guests can sit back and relax on one of four big comfy sofas and look out over the property through floor-to-ceiling windows. Glass doors from the entertainment lounge open directly to the open-sided living area, furnished with more comfortable sofas and an unusual
collection of wood and glass sculptures. Just a few steps away from the living area is a professionally equipped gym, while to the right is a casual dining area, the kids’ playroom and finally the green, spacious lawns and sparkling swimming pool area beyond.

While most of the cooking is done behind the scenes in the staff kitchen, no expense has been spared in the open-plan ‘front’ kitchen, where the chef makes his final meal preparations and where guests are welcome to indulge in their own culinary creations. You’ll be delighted by the bright, chunky Spanish-style crockery, the range of appliances and the sizable wine fridge. Separated from the kitchen area by a timber-topped breakfast bar, the dining area is open on
three sides, looking out onto gardens and the swimming pool lawn. Its long, wooden table with comfortable seating can accommodate up to 14 dinner guests.

Upstairs, reached by a spiral staircase hidden next to the pool steps, an artist’s studio with wide glass windows provides a private, quiet hideaway. The adjacent rooftop terrace is a perfect place to scan the heavens, with the help of a professional telescope.

Pool and Bale
Pool loungers, hammocks and casual seating shaded by sun umbrellas are scattered across Villa San’s well-kept lawn and around the pool, while a covered gazebo seating 12-15 lies at the far end of the pool.

Villa San’s sparkling 25 x 5m pool is just perfect for swimming laps. For a lazier experience, there’s a lounging ledge at the deep end (1.8m), while the steps at the shallow end (1.2m) are wide and safe for younger swimmers.

Yoga terrace and the Serene room

Most of the 11 Balinese staff at Villa San have lived in the Ubud area all their lives, and have vast knowledge of the cultural, adventure, sporting and artistic choices for tourists. Though no staff members live on site, there at least two staff on the property around the clock.

Full time manager: Villa San’s manager, Wayan, coordinates the running of the villa and is a mine of information about the area. He can also arrange for excellent spa, massage or yoga therapists to attend the villa. Wayan’ hours are 9-5pm but he is on call outside those hours.

Full time chef: Villa San’s chef was trained at the Oberoi Hotel, Lombok, and as such can turn his hand to just about any dish a guest may desire. Breakfast is served from 8am and guests can select lunch and dinner from the villa’s delicious suggestion menu. Villa San’s chef and kitchen staff can also cater and help plan for dinner parties and other special events.

Butler and Housekeeping: The villa’s butler and two housekeeping staff discreetly keep all living and private areas clean and tidy. Whether you wish to choose your meals from the villa menu or ask the staff to purchase provisions on your behalf, your butler is on hand to serve you throughout the day.

Gardener and pool attendant: A full-time gardener and pool attendant ensure Villa San’s grounds look their best, without ever intruding on guests’ privacy.

The villa offers a suggestion menu (including Asian and Western dishes) to make ordering easier but guests are welcome to chat with the chef if there are other items they would like to try. With excellent training from the Oberoi Hotel Lombok, chef is willing and able to accommodate most requests.

To get the best out of the kitchen, it is a good idea to plan meals with the chef the evening before, or over breakfast, allowing plenty of time for deliveries and shopping to be done. Food and drink is provided on a ‘cost’ basis with a small mark-up to cover pick-ups/delivery and stock ingredients. Meat is sourced from quality suppliers and other ingredients are bought from the market daily. The owners suggest leaving a kitty/float with the manager who will keep a track of spending.

Transport
During your stay at Villa San, a car and driver can be arranged at extra cost.
Motorbikes can be hired on the guests’ behalf from reputable local companies.

Events
Villa San is ideally suited for a casual cocktail or pool party for up to 100 people. A sit-down luncheon or dinner can also be arranged for up to 50 people with a marquee set up on the spacious lawns adjacent to the pool. Permissions and licenses can be obtained on behalf of guests, from local authorities.

Spa and Yoga Services
Many of Ubud’s very best spa therapists and yoga instructors can provide a health treatment at Villa San to suit specific needs or ailments, or to design a class for an individual or small group. Wayan, is a wealth of information about the range of Thai and Balinese massage, reiki, reflexology, energetic healing, yoga, meditation and other services available to bring in house.

Children at Villa San
Villa holidays are an excellent option for families, where advantages include having access to your own private facilities, such as swimming pool, living space and gardens and having the freedom to use them whenever you want.

Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too. Villa San has a long lawn for Frisbees and ball games, a great swimming pool with shallow section and two TV/Entertainment rooms. There’s also a dedicated Kids Room with toys, games and pool equipment. But please note that the pool is not fenced, so younger children will need your active supervision.

A particular highlight at Villa San is the kid-friendly staff. All Asians have an inherent love of children which means that the villa staff make them feel as welcome as adults. Having these willing babysitters on hand also gives you plenty of flexibility and freedom to do your own exploring beyond the villa grounds. Location
Villa San is a stone’s throw from Ubud’s Royal Palace – where cultural performances are held nightly – and very convenient for many of Ubud’s favourite treasures and attractions. While the property itself is very quiet and private, a vast, bustling local market is only 300m from the front door while a delightful variety of high quality restaurants and cafés can be found in and around the centre of town. Ubud and her surrounding small villages are rich with culture and art. Many villages focus on a specific craft – such as woodworking, stone carving, ikat weaving or batik painting. Contemporary, spacious, functional, design, the 6 villas have been conceived to offer the highest comfort and the best facilities for a luxury stay. Decorated with style, surrounded by luxuriant gardens with a private swimming pool, the Nyaman villas are located near to the beach. Boutiques and restaurants are within a walk able distance shops and restaurants are just a short walk away.

From the centre of Seminyak, a road bordered by splendid palm trees leads out towards the residential district not far from the well known Oberoi Hotel. In this privileged setting one passes a guardhouse and then enter into a wooded driveway leading to the luxury Nyaman Villas. The central feature is an open-air lobby, just like a hotel, from which paths lead to the various villas. Each bedroom of 21 square meters has a private bathroom – which is partly open-air – and a large dressing room of 10 square meters. Each villa is bathed in luminosity thanks to large bay windows.

These contemporary villas of great comfort open onto their private garden and swimming pool of 75 square meters. Each pool has a shallow and secured kids area. The 2 bedroom villas can be interconnected if required via a sliding wall in the gardens.

Interior decoration is a mix of sober style and timelessness. In the rooms as in the living room the furniture with purified lines was designed to measure in beautiful materials : leather, flax, purple wood… These sober colour tones enhance the feeling of space achieved by the merging of mole to beige, while passing by the green of gray. Conceived around the swimming pool, each garden has a terrace with deckchairs, Balinese daybeds known as a “Bale” and an outdoor open-air shower. Each villa preserves its intimacy behind high and heavy carved wood doors.

The dominant colours are mole – beige – natural cement… and the omni presence of noble materials such as leather, flax… velvet bring a timeless elegance and an undeniable luxurious style : leather armchairs, tables in purple wood, mother-of-pearl lights…The living room also serves as an art gallery exposing a collection of local works of art and craftsmanship. A contemporary staircase leads upstairs to the master bedroom with a vast parental continuation with a large terrace and private bathroom.

The master bedroom including the terrace measures a total of 162 square meters. Butler Service – Villa Kalia’s butler will prepare your breakfast and assist with all of your needs from laundry and dry cleaning to grocery shopping, car rental, tours, packing and unpacking, dining reservations, spa appointments, etc.

The service level is determined by your needs and desires. Some guests prefer complete privacy while other guests prefer a personal assistant type of butler service. It’s all up to you.

Housekeeping – Villa Kalia’s housekeeper lives on premises and will provide discrete non obtrusive housekeeping service twice per day.

DVD Catalog & Book Library – Villa Kalia’s DVD library includes over 500 selections and a Bose Home theater system. A small 200 volume reading material library is available in addition to recent issues of many popular magazines.
